چکیده

A convincing detection of primordial non-Gaussianity in the local form of the bispectrum, whose amplitude is given by the ƒNL parameter, offers a powerful test of inflation. In this paper, we calculate the modification of two-point cross-correlation statistics of weak lensing—galaxy-galaxy lensing and galaxycosmic microwave background (CMB) crosscorrelation—due to ƒNL. We derive and calculate the covariance matrix of galaxygalaxy lensing, including cosmic variance terms. We focus on large scales (l < 100) for which the shape noise of the shear measurement becomes irrelevant and cosmic variance dominates the error budget. For a modest degree of non-Gaussianity, ƒNL = ±50 modifications of the galaxy-galaxy-lensing signal at the 10% level are seen on scales R ~ 300 Mpc, and grow rapidly toward larger scales as ∝ R2. We also see a clear signature of the baryonic acoustic oscillation feature in the matter power spectrum at ~ 150 Mpc, which can be measured by next-generation lensing experiments. In addition, we can probe the local-form primordial non-Gaussianity in the galaxy-CMB lensing signal by correlating the lensing potential reconstructed from CMB with high-z galaxies. For example, for ƒNL = ±50, we find that the galaxy-CMB lensing cross-power spectrum is modified by ~ 10% at l ~ 40, and by a factor of 2 at l ~ 10, for a population of galaxies at z = 2 with a bias of 2. The effect is greater for more highly biased populations at larger z; thus, high-z galaxy surveys cross correlated with CMB offer a yet another probe of primordial non-Gaussianity. Can large-scale structure probe CMB-constrained non-Gaussianity?

The first year Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) set quantitative constraints on the amplitude of any primordial non-Gaussianity. We run a series of dark matter-only N-body simulations with the WMAP constraints to investigate the effect of the presence of primordial non-Gaussianity on large scale structures. The model parameters can be constrained using the observations of protocluste...

baryonic matter distribution in the large-scale structures is one of the main questions in cosmology. This distribution can provide valuable information regarding  the processes of galaxy formation and evolution. On the other hand, the missing baryon problem is still under debate. One of the most important cosmological structures for studying the rate and  the distribution of the baryons is gal...

CMB Lensing: Polarization, Large-Scale Structure and the Primordial Bispectrum

Gravitational lensing of photons in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) can be described by an integrated potential along the line of sight, the CMB lensing potential. Covariances in maps of the CMB are generated by the lensing effect, and are used to reconstruct the lensing potential itself, which is a useful probe of the matter distribution. The CMB lensing potential has been measured to hi...

Tests for primordial non-Gaussianity

We investigate the relative sensitivities of several tests for deviations from Gaussianity in the primordial distribution of density perturbations. We consider models for non-Gaussianity that mimic that which comes from inflation as well as that which comes from topological defects. The tests we consider involve the cosmic microwave background (CMB), large-scale structure (LSS), high-redshift g...

Non-gaussian Halo Bias and Future Galaxy Surveys

We forecast constraints on primordial non-Gaussianity achievable from forthcoming surveys by exploiting the scale-dependent halo bias introduced on large scales by non-Gaussian initial conditions. We explore the performance of exploiting both the shape of the galaxy power-spectrum on large scales and the cross-correlation of galaxies with Cosmic Microwave Background maps through the Integrated ...
